At Sandia Area, we believe banking should do more than manage money—it should help grow thriving communities. Permaculture is a design philosophy built on three core principles: Care of Earth, Care of People, and Fair Share. Rooted in ecological thinking, these principles guide how we operate as a credit union every single day. We invest in our local environment, show up for our members and neighbors, and reinvest value back into the communities we serve rather than extracting it for profit. For us, permaculture isn’t just a philosophy—it’s a promise to do right by the people and the place we call home.

Our Impact
New Mexico is one of the most arid states in the country, and trees matter here more than most places. Tree New Mexico has spent over 30 years planting and caring for trees across the Land of Enchantment, building healthier, shadier, more connected neighborhoods one root ball at a time. As a proud partner, Sandia Area shows up, not just with funding, but with our sleeves rolled up ready to do our part to support Tree NM's mission across our communities.
